Safety Instructions
Important Safety Information for Duplo Composite Horseshoes
Duplo Composite Horseshoes must be selected, fitted, adjusted, modified, and applied by a qualified farrier or equine professional. Improper application, poor fit, inadequate inspection, or unsafe riding conditions may result in injury to horse, rider, handler, or damage to property.
By purchasing and using these products, you acknowledge that horseshoeing and riding involve inherent risks and that product performance depends on the individual horse, hoof condition, trimming, fit, terrain, riding conditions, and ongoing inspection.
1. Professional Application Required
Only use Duplo Horseshoes if you have the necessary knowledge regarding correct application. Review the shoeing instructions before use.

Only use the proper tools and equipment when fitting or modifying Duplo Horseshoes. Follow normal workshop and tool safety practices at all times.

2. Correct Application
Do not place a Duplo Horseshoe between the hoof and a conventional metal horseshoe.

Adjust quarter clips to the hoof angle. When using Duplo Basic, grind the quarter clips before shoeing to help reduce injury risk.

3. Dust, Heat, and Workshop Safety
Do not inhale abrasive dust created when grinding Duplo Horseshoes or synthetic accessories. Use appropriate precautions when using an angle grinder, belt sander, or other power tools.

Avoid burning Duplo Horseshoes or synthetic accessories. Do not place them into a forge or furnace, and do not inhale fumes from heated synthetic material.

4. Inspection and Maintenance
Check the proper and secure fit of the horseshoes once a day and before every use of the horse. Regular inspection is necessary to help prevent shoe loss during normal wear.

Inspect weekly for sharp edges, open rivets, wear, movement, or other signs of instability. Take corrective action immediately if any issue is found.

5. Herd, Stud, and Glue-On Use
Duplo products are generally made from softer material with chamfered edges, which may reduce some injury risk compared with conventional horseshoes, but injuries can never be fully eliminated. Certain models, including Arizona, may present greater herd injury risk because of the steel border.

The use of spikes and studs, and the decision to use them, remain the responsibility of the horse owner in cooperation with the local farrier. Check studs, spikes, and thread inserts once a day and before every use of the horse.

If Duplo Horseshoes are used as glue-on shoes, follow all safety instructions and warnings provided by the adhesive manufacturer.

6. Riding Conditions and Traction
On slippery ground, Duplo Horseshoes generally have traction similar to a bare hoof or a conventional metal horseshoe without studs. Additional anti-skid equipment such as studs or spikes may be necessary depending on conditions. Riding speed and use conditions must always be adjusted appropriately.
